Delegates of the 2011 Annual Academic Meeting of CSAE Visiting CRI

On October 23^rd, 2011, Prof. ZHOU Changyong, the director of CRI and Mr. LONG Li, CRI’s party secretary, met with the delegates of the 2011 annual academic meeting of Chinese Society of Agricultural Engineering, including Dr. WANG Yingkuan, deputy director of Agricultural Engineering Science and Technology Information Center Of Ministry of Agriculture and associate editor of Agricultural Engineering, Prof. Bill Stout, former and honorary president of International Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineering as well as professor of Texas A&M University, Ms. Jacobsen Sonia Marie Maasse, president of American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineering, Mr. Darrin Drollinger, executive director of American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineering, Mr. Sun-on Chung, professor of Chungnam National University and president of Asian Society of Precision Agriculture, and Mr. Vilas M. Salokhe, vice president of India Keats RenKe University and former president of Asian Association for Agricultural Engineering.

After a brief introduction of China’s citrus industry and CRI by Prof. ZHOU Changyong, Dr. WANG Yingkuan, Prof. Bill Stout, and other delegates watched the video of CRI’s 50th Anniversary, and visited the citrus varieties and insect pest specimens’ museums, the processing pilot workshop, the quality inspection laboratory, the virus-free nursery and the display nursery of citrus varieties.

The 2011 annual meeting of CSAE was hosted by Chinese Society of Agricultural Engineering and held by Southwest University, Chongqing Municipal Agriculture Committee and Chongqing Municipal Scientific Technology Committee. A total of 872 delegates from 30 provinces, 46 universities and 9 scientific research institutes attended the meeting, with the presence of experts in agricultural engineering field from America, Australia, Canada, India, South Korea, Greece, and Zambia.
